The Bummer's Ball is our largest fundraising event of the year, and enables us to do what we do best: save lives. At last year’s Bummer’s Ball, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Bob Weir, and others sang the night away to benefit the animals. This year, we are thrilled to have the beautiful and iconic Emmylou perform again, as well as other huge, exciting artists to be announced!
Rumored to be Emperor Norton's dogs, Bummer and Lazarus were beloved street strays in the1800s. As beloved street strays ourselves, Rocket Dog Rescue created the Bummer's Ball, a spectacular dreamland of delicious food, beautiful people, magic, and soul-healing music.
At last year's Bummer's Ball, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Bob Weir, and others sang the night away to benefit the animals. This year, we are thrilled to have the beautiful Emmylou perform again, as well as other huge, exciting artists to be announced! We'll have a silent and live auction with unique items for both human and canine, circus performers, tarot card readers, fancy drinks, and delicious food.
This year's Bummer's Ball will be held at the Haight Street Art Center, located at 215 Haight St, San Francisco, CA.
All profits from our ticket sales go directly towards saving animals. Our all-volunteer team keeps the doors open at our Urban Sanctuary for on-call, after hours emergencies and community support, such as acting as first responders to assist with both animals and humans in need in the horrific northern California fires. The funds raised from this event go to support these efforts throughout the year.
